Los Baños, Laguna — The search is on for the next Pantas and Tanglaw awardees. Nominations for the said awards can be forwarded to PCARRD starting February 25.
The Pantas seeks for outstanding scientists/researchers and research administrators, while the Tanglaw looks for laudable research institutions.
Prizes awaiting the winners are P100, 000 cash and a P1-million research grant for the most outstanding scientist /researcher; P100, 000 cash for the most outstanding research administrator; and P1-million research grant for the most outstanding research institution. All winners will be given trophies.
Scientists/researchers, research administrators and institutions that have made exemplary contributions for the advancement of agriculture, forestry and natural resources in the Philippines are welcome to submit their entries.
Interested parties should submit six copies of the duly endorsed Pantas/Tanglaw Awards nomination forms with justification, comprehensive biodata, and other supporting documents to the Office of the Executive Director, PCARRD, Los Baños, Laguna not later than June 30. Nomination forms are available at the offices of PCARRD, the 14 regional consortia, and can also be downloaded from www.pcarrd.dost.gov.ph.
This year’s winners will be joining the roster of great achievers in research and development including 2008 Tanglaw Awardee Philippine Carabao Center, and 2008 Pantas Awardees: Dr. Edgardo E. Tulin, dean and professor at the Visayas State University (scientist/researcher category) and Dr. Teotimo M. Aganon, Central Luzon Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium director and current vice president for research, extension and training at the Central Luzon State University (research administrator category).
