The Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) is conducting a Roundtable Discussion today in preparation for the National Research and Development Conference. To be held on October 21, 2016, at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Mandaluyong City, the Conference, which will be led by DOST, aims to provide a venue for stakeholders’ consultation on the National Research and Development Agenda. The Agenda is being crafted in support of an S&T-based Philippine Development Plan for 2017 and beyond. It shall cover different sectors, which include health; agriculture, aquatic and natural resources (AANR); industry; energy and emerging technology; disaster risk reduction and climate change; and basic research. DOST-PCAARRD, the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB), Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM); Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech), and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) joined the activity, which began with the presentation of the R&D agenda of the participating agencies.
