National scientists (from left to right) Dr. Gelia T. Castillo, Dr. Bienvenido O. Juliano, and Dr. Ramon C. Barba share information about the profession that they are known for to students and participants of the forum, Trailblazers in Science: National Scientists Lecture Series, held during the Los Baños science community cluster’s week-long celebration of the National Science and Technology Week (NSTW).
Dr. Castillo shared her journey to becoming national scientist and being known in the global health research industry, while Dr. Juliano shared the findings of his study titled, Rice Grain Qualities: Cooking and Eating Qualities. Lastly, Dr. Barba shared his study on mango flowering induction, which he has secured with a patent. The three national scientists addressed the questions of the students in an open forum following the lectures.

(LBSCFI), Forest Products Research and Development Institute (FPRDI), and DOST IV, the Los Baños science community cluster’s celebration of NSTW was held at the DOST-PCAARRD complex, Los Baños, Laguna.
