Muslim brothers join Techno Gabay Program in Cotabato

The Moro National Liberation Front - Autonomous Tri-people of Mindanao Region – Sebangan Kutawato State Revolutionary Committees (MNLF-ATMR-SKSRC), the United-Tri-people Women’s Organization (UTPWO), other tribes and highlanders of Cotabato participated in the Skills On Air Training Course on Vermiculture under the Techno Gabay Radio Program.

Conducted by the Cotabato Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (CARRDEC), the activity was aired over DXKA - FM (93.3) from 30 June to 31 July 2007.

Fifty-one completed the program, which culminated in a recognition ceremony held at the LP Oliva Pavilion, University of Southern Mindanao (USM), Kabacan, Cotabato. Six outstanding participants received Awards of Distinction.

In his message, Datu Dima M. Ambel, Al Hadj, Chairman of MNLF-ATMR-SKSRC stressed that the TGP can help our Muslim brothers improve their livelihoods and uplift their standard of living. He added that it is of great help to the younger generations and expressed hope that this would end conflicts in the region.

Dr. Bessie G. Burgos, PCARRD Director for Technology Outreach and Promotion graced the event as guest speaker.

PCARRD Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Richard M. Juanillo; CARRDEC Executive Director, Dr. Hersie C. Nicor; and Dr. Nelson T. Binag, CARRDEC Reginal R&D Board Chair and President of the Sultan Kudarat Polytechnic State College (SKPSC) were also present. (LM. Tolentino, CARRDEC)
