A team of researchers from the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences-University of the Philippines Visayas (CFOS-UPV) was recognized during the 2nd Invention Disclosure Incentive (IDI) Awarding Ceremony at the UP Diliman.
Professor Valeriano L. Corre, along with his co-inventors, Prof. Victor Marco Emmanuel Ferriols, Ernesto del Rosario, Jan Michael Genesila, and Prof. Francis Dimzon, received ₱40,000.00 financial incentive for their invention, the Remote Operated Automatic Bottom Feeder. The said invention is one of the research outputs of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-UPV milkfish program, which was funded by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the DOST (DOST-PCAARRD).
IDI award is given to inventors, researchers, faculty members, students, staff, and visiting professors undertaking research pursuant to any program, project grant, or contract under the auspices of UP. The award aims to encourage investors to disclose their inventions to the University and to help promote a culture of research and innovation.
