Dr. Reynaldo V. Ebora, Acting Executive Director of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development, Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) keynoted the 30th joint Visayas Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Program-Regional Research and Development Extension (ViCAARP-RRDEN) Symposium.
Held at the Visayas State University (VSU) Convention Center, Baybay City, Leyte, the Joint ViCAARP-RRDEN Regional Research and Development Extension (RDE) Symposium served as the initial activity of the three-day Farms and Industry Encounters through the Science and Technology Agenda (FIESTA) for Queen Pineapple.
In his message, delivered by PCAARRD-Applied Communication Director Marita A. Carlos, Dr. Ebora explained the rationale of the R&D Symposium as a monitoring and evaluation mechanism of the Council's Strategic R&D program.
Winners of the Best Research and Best Development Paper Categories in this symposium will compete in the third and final stage, which is the National Symposium on Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (NSAARRD).
Dr. Ebora also explained how the RDE Symposium is being complemented by FIESTA in relation to the Council's R&D Results Utilization banner program.
Finally, Dr. Ebora expressed the Council's continuing support for R&D through its various sectoral programs as he encouraged its research partners to avail of the Council's various R&D assistance.
