The Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) was conferred with two awards by the Freedom of Information - Program Management Office (FOI-PMO) during the 2023 Freedom of Information Summit on November 21, 2023 at Hilton Manila, Pasay City. The awards are in recognition of the Council’s effective and efficient means of addressing and providing information requested by the public.
DOST-PCAARRD was adjudged as the “FOI Champion - 2nd Runner-Up,” for bringing honor and recognition to the agency through excellence and distinction in the pursuit of ensuring the constitutional mandate of right to information.
Ms. Frela Shayne M. Barias, Administrative Assistant II of the General Services and Records Section of the Finance and Administrative Division of DOST-PCAARRD, was also awarded the “Best FOI Receiving Officer.” This award is given to individuals from government agencies and institutions who have exemplified great progress and performance in the implementation of the FOI Program.
DOST Assistant Secretary Dr. Diana L. Ignacio joined Ms. Barias in receiving the award.
