Baler, Aurora – Meat processors from eight municipalities of Aurora participated in a cookfest during the conduct of the Central Luzon Agriculture Aquatic and Resources Research and Development Consortium’s (CLAARRDEC) Farms and Industry Encounters through the Science and Technology Agenda (FIESTA) on Goat.
Held on April 26, 2019 at the Baler Provincial Capitol Compound, the cookfest aimed to feature local goat meat dishes.
Composed of three representatives per group, each group was tasked to prepare Caldereta, Papaitan, and Kilawin highlighting chevon as main meat ingredient.
The cookfest was conducted to promote R&D value adding initiatives as part of the technology promotion and transfer effort of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) and its regional partners.
Pork and chicken embutido making was conducted during the first day of the FIESTA. The cookfest was one of the featured activities during the 2nd Meat Festival of Baler, which was simultaneously conducted with CLAARRDEC's 2nd Goat FIESTA.
