Biotech in Focus is the expression of views and perspectives of photographers and photography enthusiasts on modern crop biotechnology in agriculture captured in single-frame photographs. It may depict actual and potential benefits, examples, applications, effects or history of modern biotechnology that sheds light on issues and misconceptions surrounding the technology.
ELIGIBILITY
The contest is open to all Filipino photography enthusiasts residing in the Philippines, except the staff of ISAAA and SEARCA and their immediate relatives. Joining the contest is free of charge.
GUIDELINES FOR ENTRIES
An entry should be a colored, single-frame photograph. It should be non-composite, have no filters and not enhanced in any way. Photo entries should be original and have not yet been submitted in other local or international photo contests or published in print or online.
How to submit entries:

- Post your photo entry on your personal Facebook page and tag the “Biotech in Focus” page on your post. The photo should have a caption explaining the photo along with the hashtag #biotechinfocus. Each contestant is allowed to submit up to three entries. Contestants must use only one personal Facebook account to submit entries. Contestants that will use more than
one account will be disqualified. - Submit a copy of your photo entry to

a. Name
b. School/Organization
c. Photo of the contestant
d. Location where the photo was taken
e. Caption of the photo
f. Link to the Facebook post containing
the entry/ies
g. Contact information
The submitted file must be in JPEG format. The file names of entries should follow this format: name of contestant_title (i.e. juandelacruz_moments.jpg).
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
All entries will be judged based on the following
criteria:
- Adherence to the Theme: 40%
- Creativity: 30%
- Overall Impact: 30%
SUBMISSION, DEADLINE, AND CONTACTS
Entries must be submitted on or before November 5, 2015. Any entries, submitted or posted beyond the said date will not be accepted.
EXHIBIT AND AWARDING
The winning entries will be exhibited during the 11th National Biotechnology Week celebration on November 23-27, 2015 at SM Dasmariñas, Cavite. Finalists will be notified of their participation to the event prior to the opening of the National Biotechnology Week.

All contestants grant ISAAA and SEARCA the exclusive right to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the photos for knowledge sharing initiatives and science popularization activities without further compensation to the owners.
