Smart and sustainable technologies in the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources (AANR) sector are being showcased during the 2025 National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW) in Ilocos Norte.

These research outputs and technologies are highlighted through an exhibit of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) under the sustainability pillar exhibits of the science celebration.
Among the technologies featured are Project Smarter Approaches to Reinvigorate Agriculture as an Industry (Project SARAI); Black Soldier Fly; Heat-Assisted Temperature Control and Monitoring System for Hatchery Management of Milkfish (HATCH); SmartRAS: Recirculating Aquaculture System for Syclla serrata Broodstock conditioning; conservation of Wild Tea plants in Mountain Province; biocontrol agents for pest and disease management in citrus orchards; and swine breed registry.
The Council also bannered its very own eLibrary, where various printed publications are given away for free.
Experts on smart agriculture for sustainable development shared their knowledge and insights during a technology forum conducted at the Northwestern University (NWU) in Laoag City on November 18, 2025. The experts discussed innovative solutions shaping the future of agriculture in the Philippines.

Themed, "Building Smart and Sustainable Communities," this year's NSTW is being held on November 18-21, 2025 at the Ilocos Norte Centennial Arena in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
NSTW serves as a platform to bring science, technology, and innovation closer to the public, allowing them to experience its essential role in improving the people's quality of life, protecting the environment, and contributing to national development, particularly in poverty alleviation.
